Long Time No Speak

Charlie has settled really well here in Barcelona. He is absolutely loving the weather here and likes to chatter at the birds outside eating the fallen olives from the tree from the comfort of indoors. At first when he came he was stressed out for a couple of days but it didn't take him long for him to get accustomed and relaxed again.

However he had a horrible scare this morning. Over the past few days he has been wheezing really badly. We were aware that he had lumps on his voicebox which had been taken care of previously with steroids, so we thought at first that these could have come back with a vengence. However this morning he looked really uncomfortable and sad, so we took him to the vets in Esplgues, right next to our little suburb area called Sant Just. He went in classed as an 'emergency' and I honestly thought we wouldn't see him come out of there again because of how he looked. However all was good, because he had lungworm earlier last year, they said his bronchioles could always flare up again and he could have breathing problems. He now does and the vet said this could very easily lead to asthma. So every two weeks he might have to have injections with a drug which will help him with his breathing.

He has 2ml of it today because he had a 0.4ml dose of Metacam, something to help with his joints. He is going to go back on friday for a bit more. But within the day he looks much more comfortable and happier, he is currently sleeping on a piece of mat he likes to play on! Although he is still snoring like the old man he is!

I will post pictures of him and his life out here in BCN, but this is all for now! I apologise for not updating it sooner.

Lots of love,

Charlie x
